Ajuga reptans 'Jungle Beauty' (bugle flower)
π±This lovely little blue flowering feature plant is.... Ajuga reptans 'Jungle Beauty'. It's not the typical planting choice for between pavers, but sometimes it's good to mix it up π
'Ajuga' aka 'bugle flower ' is a spring flowering groundcover ideal for shade and semi-shaded positions. It's pretty easy to grow, though it doesn't like 'wet feet'π¦π£.
Maturing at a petite 250mm high, one plant can spread 1β2 metres plus wide, as it spreads by rooting. However, for a fast cover, it's better to plant around 2-3 per m2. Once established, it makes a dense, weed-suppressing groundcover and requires very little care, so it's a good choice for the low-maintenance garden or busy gardener.
Ajuga looks stunning mass planted and when in flower it will attract and provide an excellent food source for bees π.
